Trowbridge moved up to third with a good all round performance against a Malmesbury side that have been in good form of late. The home side put the pressure on in the early stages but a nicely headed through ball from Dean Barker was latched onto by Dave Percival and he ran on to slot the ball home and give Trowbridge the lead after 16 minutes. Barker might have made it two later in the half but headed wide when unmarked. Malmesbury drew level six minutes into the second half. A superb run by Anthony Packer and an even better strike from 20 yards beat Porter as he dived to his left. Both defences did well to maintain level scores as the game swung from end-to-end. Trowbridge were rewarded for their efforts when Percival was brought down in the area after 67 minutes. He confidently stepped to score from the spot and claim three hard earned points. In the tricky icy conditions, all players should be congratulated for their efforts in an entertaining match.
