Trowbridge Town 2 Old Woodstock Town 0
Trowbridge won their first ever meeting with Woodstock with a blistering first half performance. The first goal came after 13 minutes. Michael Barnes beat a crowd of players and crossed the ball left-footed for Dean Barker to head down and over the line. Dave Percival shot directly at the Woodstock goalkeeper shortly afterwards before Andy Bloodworth made it 2-0 with 18 minutes gone. This time the ball came in from the right from Dave Percival for a Bloodworth tap in. Bloodworth should have capped a fine performance with a second seven minutes later but with only the goalkeeper to beat his lob went wide. Trowbridge had the ball in the net again before half time but a player was correctly adjudged as offside and another lob also went wide of the post. Woodstock contributed much more to the second half, maintaining their discipline and playing some good football. Trowbridge should definitely have had a penalty for a clear hand ball but Woodstock probably deserved at least one goal for their efforts. They were denied by a post following a free kick after 75 minutes and Lewis Porter made a good stop after 82. The Trowbridge defence looked solid though, with old favourite Paul Thorpe plus Daniel Barnes and Adam Glover both putting in steady performances.
