Weymouth Reserves
1 - 2
 Trowbridge Town

League (Western League Division One)
Wednesday, April 11th, 1951
3:00 PM Kick-off

Scorers: Jim Grimason

Trowbridge were rather unlucky to lose both points in their match at Weymouth on Wednesday evening by two goals to one. The Seasiders had a good number of their Southern League side on duty, but Trowbridge were without Hancock and Abrahams (injured). Then early in the second half Bill Lovesey had a recurrence of his leg injury and was never playing like his old self. It is doubtful whether he will play again this season, Mr. Jim Paviour (team manager) said on Thursday morning. Jimmy Welch played on the left wing, with Ron Webb inside, and Sheppard went to right back.
Weymouth were generally on top in the first half, but strong defence work kept them out. Trowbridge had one or two reasonably good scoring chances, but at the interval no goals had been scored.
Weymouth took the lead after the change-over, after which Trowbridge showed their best form, despite Lovesey's incapacity. With only few minutes to go Grimason showed great personal delight when he scored the equalising goal against his former club, but almost immediately from the restart Mosscrop, who looked palpably offside, ran through to give Weymouth victory.
