3:00 PM Kick-off

Scorers: Ken Abrahams, Jack Dagg, Harry Haddon (2)

Peasedown Miners, despite their lowly position in the league, provided stubborn and enthusiastic opposition for the Town, who ran out winners by 4-1. The pitch was covered with water, but the players made the best of such unpleasant conditions. Peasedown launched full-scale attacks to try and get the encouragement of an early goal, and they almost succeeded. Box and Chandler both heading over. When Trowbridge forwards got going. Webb and Haddon, their wingers, were effective, but their inside colleagues were unable to turn good centres to account. Trowbridge played neater football, but could not find their shooting form.
Peasedown's attack worried the Trowbridge defence, but the visitors got the first goal, after 35 minutes, when Dagg netted from a centre by Haddon. Ken Abrahams added a second shortly before half-time. In the second half Trowbridge were generally masters of the game, Abrahams, Webb and Haddon repeatedly taking the ball into the home goal area by clever play. It was from a pass by Abrahams that Haddon scored a third goal for Trowbridge. Then followed an unfortunate incident. Haddon was going through nicely when the Peasedown centre-half pulled him down from behind. The referee immediately awarded penalty, which the Peasedown player resented, and argued violently with the referee, who ordered him from the field. Haddon converted the spot kick. Peasedown, never downhearted, kept pegging away and after a shot by Hobbs had struck the crossbar Wallis scored their solitary goal. Hancock and Abrahams both reported a groin injury after the match.
