Trowbridge disappointed many of their followers by losing at Street, who it will be remembered drew 1-1 at Trowbridge the first match of the season. Last Saturday the Town appeared somewhat leg-weary after their gruelling midweek match at Weymouth, but with little more luck would have snatched a point. The forwards were not in their best shooting form. The Town goal was under heavy pressure from the kick-on and but for superb work by the defence Street must have scored very early on. The first goal came after Cousins had kept out a stiff shot by Webb, who is showing his best form just now. Pittard centred, and Vince was beaten to the ball by Ward, who headed into the net. Vince dived full length to save from Pittard, but Ward put Street further ahead. Haddon reduced the score from penalty. There was no further scoring. |
