Trowbridge Town
4 - 3
 Yeovil Town Reserves

Scorers: Ken Abrahams, Jack Dagg, Jim Grimason, Harry Haddon

Yeovil Reserves, folding six or seven of their Southern League side, including player-manager Paterson, were beaten 4-3 in a rousing tussle on Wednesday evening. This was a similar score by which Trowbridge won at Yeovil last November, when Bill Lovesey was badly injured. The visitors combined cleverly in the early stages and looked likely to get goals, but Trowbridge settled down, and led 3-0 at half-time. Dagg got the first when he chased the ball and just flicked it hard enough to enter the goal. The goalkeeper, Turner, raced back and cleared, but the linesman signalled that the ball had crossed the line. Five minutes later a faulty kick by a defender sent the ball to Abrahams, who scored with a splendid cross shot. Two minutes later, in a scrimmage following a centre from Webb, Grimason scored.
Nine minutes after the restart Yeovil had drawn level. Rae (centre forward) completed a neat movement in the first minute when he ran in and converted a pass from Hayward (outside left). Then Wright scored a second, and Rae added the equaliser. Trowbridge's defence seemed "at sea" during this brief spell, but quickly recovered. After 60 minutes Haddon scored the winning goal - a peculiar affair. Grimason passed a free kick forward to Haddon, who looked be well covered by Parker (left back) and Turner. Both hesitated, however, and as Turner came out Haddon nipped in and tapped the ball into the unguarded goal. There was much good football, but the closing stages were marred by rough play, which ended in Haddon and being knocked out at the same time. Trowbridge's victory might have been more convincing had Dagg and Abrahams taken easy scoring chances. The side were well served by their wing halves, Grimason (who had one of his best games for the club) and Sutherland. By their win Trowbridge retain their unbeaten home record this League.
