After the controversial draw at Mitel, everybody must have been looking forward to this match. The Trowbridge Team certainly were and should have taken an early lead when Chris Tricker found himself one-on-one with the Mitel goalkeeper. Unfortunately, on this occasion the 'keeper blocked the shot from Chris and Town had to settle for a corner. Trowbridge continued to dominate the game and finally took the lead after about 17 minutes when debutant Jerard O'Pray finished well with a shot into the corner. More goals looked likely but it wasn't until the last minute of the first half that Adam Smith broke through and made it 2-0. Trowbridge showed that that meant business at the start of the first half with an excellent attacking move in the first minute, O'Pray providing the perfect cross for Steve Eade to glance a header into the corner of the net to make it 3-0. It was just a matter of how many now as Trowbridge piled on wave after wave of attacking play. The fourth goal came from O'Pray as he got the better of a defender and then beat the goalkeeper with style to score. Mark Edwards then joined in the fun as he got past a defender and was brought down just inside the area. "Eddie" converting his earned penalty with confidence. O'Pray then completed his hat trick with a brilliant finish which flew past the by now quite irate goalkeeper to make it 6-0. Mitel scored a consolation penalty after Will picked up an unfortunate caution when giving away a penalty. A similar fate met a Mitel defender though and Mark Edwards stepped up to smash in the penalty and make the final score 7-1. This was a superb team performance by Trowbridge who totally outclassed Mitel. The only disappointment of the day was when Paul Shanley was sent off together with a Mitel player after a scuffle in midfield. Quote of the day was provided by a well know Trowbridge supporter. "HOW THE "MITEL" HAVE FALLEN".
