Bank Holiday Stroll For Trowbridge.
Trowbridge brushed aside Malmesbury in this very one-sided match. Matt Cooper had already shot wide and had a shot saved before opening the scoring in the 14th minute. Dave Percival with a good run towards the post, cutting the ball back for Cooper to rifle the ball into the roof of the net. Roles were reversed in the 27th minute, Cooper heading a throw-in into the path of Percival, who then ran though to finish well under pressure from Paul Hudson.
Cooper then made it three in the 40th minute, gaining possession inside the area and going past one defender before drilling the ball past Stuart Pound.
In the second half, Trowbridge continued to camp inside the Malmesbury half but failed to create the same number of clear cut chances. Neil Kirkpatrick brought on Dan Lardner & Dave Mitchell in an all out attack but the bank-holiday crowd had to wait until the 87th minute for the final goal. Mitchell hit a good shot that was parried by Pound but as the ball broke loose, Lardner got to the ball first and cut it back across goal for Mitchell to tap home.
