Scorers: Jim Allaway (2), Selby Dando

Trowbridge Town gave a most promising display in this match at Frome Road on Wednesday evening and deserved their narrow victory.
Cecil Dixon, a Trowbridge Town Colt, was the star of the side, and played a great part in the Town's victory.
The Trowbridge Defence were on their best form. Rosling took the eye for his cool and effective tackling and Dando also impressed in his first team debut and scored a goal with a hefty dropping shot.
Trowbridge opened the scoring in half-an-hour when Allway scored a neat goal.
Later a grand shot by Dixon came back off the crossbar and Allway following up, shot the ball into the net.
The clubs have now met five times in friendly fixtures, Trowbridge winning three and Portsmouth two.
After the game, Trowbridge Town supporters' club announced that their membership was now 1,050.
