Scorers: Ken Abrahams, Jack Dagg

Chippenham United lost two more home points on Saturday to Trowbridge, in a "patchy" game. Trowbridge showed more method, but far too many passes went to an opponent. Artus and McLoughlin were most impressive in the United side. Any hopes they might have had of saving the game vanished live minutes after the interval, when Greenland was taken hospital with a fractured nose received when he collided with Barclay both forwards went for the ball in the air. The Chippenham side never found an answer the scheming of Abrahams. In the first couple of minutes Dagg missed an easy chance following typical Abrahams pass, and then Abrahams had the goal his mercy but tried to beat a man and was dispossessed. This was followed by McLoughlin pulling down a shot from Grimason, who had a good match.
In a United attack Greenland, working through on the right, got over nice centre Barclay, whose shot Vince pushed round the post for corner. Then from a centre by Delve Barclay a hit post. Five minutes before half-time Trowbridge were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area. Webb placed the ball beautifully for Abraham, to head into the net, the United defence being not too well placed. Away went United and Vince brought off a smart save from Allen, their most dangerous forward. About a quarter of an hour after the restart Dagg scored Trowbridge's second from close in, after McLoughlin had pushed out a shot from Haddon. This was bad luck on the goalkeeper. United's goal was in the nature of a gift. Vince appeared to have a quite harmless looking shot from Barclay wall covered as he went down on one knee to gather it the ball bounced awkwardly and shot up into the net.
