Street
1 - 1
 Trowbridge Town

League (Western League Division One)
Saturday, September 6th, 1952
3:00 PM Kick-off

Scorers: Ernie Marshall

Trowbridge opened their Western League season with a 45-seconds goal - a great drive by half-back Ernie Marshall. Trowbridge, who were without Hulbert (injured) at back, Baker coming in. displayed their old championship form in the first half, but Street defended well. Several times Tucker made daring saves off his goal-line. When Street's attack really got going they were dangerous, and Vince made a number of capable saves in goal. Two of his best were when he dived to a rasping shot from Baker, and his clearance of a header from Dodkin. Street's equaliser came in the 32nd minute, following a goalmouth tussle, Adams headed past Vince, who had just previously cleared a drive by Leamon, the former Chippenham player.
In the second half play was not quite of the same standard, and both sides lost scoring chances through over-eagerness. All the Trowbridge team played really well.
