Trowbridge visited Gravesend who were top of the S.E Section of the Southern League and the previous season's champions, and made the home tea, fight hard for their win.
Gravesend scored after 9 minutes and again 9 minutes after the interval, but although losing 2-0 Trowbridge attacked the home team relentlessly. The only goal however, did not arrive until 2 minutes from the end when Vic Lambden scored.
