Trowbridge lost by two goals to one against Bedford, who were making a strong challenge for the league leadership. Bedford included two ex-Spurs stars in Len Duquemin and Colin Brittan together with a number of ex Football League players, and were shocked by Trowbridge taking the lead in the 26th minute through Eddie Murphy, The Bedford goals were scored a few minutes before half-time and two minutes after half-time.
