Scorers: John Henderson

Trowbridge made Bath City fight all the way before conceding a 3-1 defeat in a match where few people expected the home side to lose. Bath were enjoying a good season in the Southern League and included in their side were Stan Mortensen, Charley Fleming, Tony Book and Alan Skirton. Trowbridge were , however, bottom of the Southern League (S.E. Section).
Fleming gave Bath the lead after two minutes with one of his famous 'cannonball' shots but two minutes later Trowbridge equalised with a penalty taken by John Henderson. For the remainder of the first half play was even with both goal-keepers having to make fine saves.
Charley Fleming missed a penalty for Bath in the second half but short afterwards, Stan Mortensen put The City ahead. The final goal was scored by Pickard five minutes from time.
The Wiltshire Times carried a picture of supporters boarding a special train to travel to the match.
