Trowbridge won their first Easter match quite comfortably at Frome Road against lowly Merthyr Tydfil. The final result was 4-0 but the match never rose to any great heights. The high wind and a very hard, bumpy pitch has a lot to do with this, but the Town also wasted many glorious chances.
Trowbridge scored two goals in the first half through Ken Wrintmore and Archie Thornburn and two in the second by Alan Powell and Billy Horton.
