Trowbridge defeated Canterbury City 2-1 ay Frome Road, and regained second position in the league behind Bath City. The Town took the lead in the fifth minute with an excellent goal by Billy Horton. Trowbridge then soaked up a great deal of pressure from Canterbury before an equaliser came in the 17th minute. Archie Thorburn was missing from the Trowbridge team through injury, but Alan Powell taking his place on the left wing had a very good game, and capped this by setting up the 50th minute winning goal scored by Kenny Wrintmore.
