In front of 1,300 spectators the highest home gate of the season far. Trowbridge drew 2-2 with Banbury United. The two teams were in joint second position behind Bath City. The gate was the highest in the Southern League Div 1, and in fact the only four figure attendance in the division.
The pitch was a quagmire but an excellent tussle resulted with no quarter given by either side. The draw was a fair reflection of play, Banbury took the lead after 5 minutes with an own goal by Roger Brown, but Trowbridge equalised 4 minutes later with an excellent goal by Terry Evans. The same player scored again after 30 minutes, Banbury's equaliser came in the 76th minute. Trowbridge were unlucky not to get the winner when a excellent header by Billy Horton was cleared off the line.
