Dunbar's sports centre is set in lovely country side near Wanborough, it was a shame that no facilities were open to greet the traveling Trowbridge Town fans. There was no tea available for the team at half time, let alone the supporters. I thought this was a very poor show from a large Company like Allied Dunbar. Anyway, back to the match... Dunbar held out for as long as they could in the first half as Trowbridge piled on the pressure. It seemed obvious that the floodgates would open once we scored, the goal eventually coming from O'Pray scoring from close range. A few minutes later Kirkpatrick found himself on the end of a good quality cross as he headed down into the goal to make it 2-0. Adam Smith was a having a field day as he ran at the Dunbar defence and probably should have scored in this game but it wasn't to be. Instead the third goal came from Gary Holding as he slotted home after the Dunbar goalkeeper fumbled a free kick. Shortly before half time Adam Smith was fouled just outside the area to the right hand side of the goal and Paul Shanley stepped up to guide a free kick into the far corner. Knowing there was no tea available, the Trowbridge team stayed outside at the dugout during the half time break, eager to add to the score line in the second half. Ben Gardner was the first to increase the score, heading home powerfully from a Shanley corner. Dunbar then pulled a goal back with a well struck shot following a loss of concentration at the back. Alan Roberts brought on Wayne Miles for Kirkpatrick at the back and also replaced injured Adam Smith with new signing Stuart Irons. O'Pray made it 6-1 one with a very skilful finish, then Chris Tricker who had threatened to score all through the match finally found the target to make it 8-1. Stuart Irons who played well on his debut decided to round off his performance by scoring the ninth.
