Match Report

Trowbridge Town
3 - 0
 Aldbourne

League (Wiltshire Intermediate League)
Saturday, February 5th, 2000
Woodmarsh
Referee: K Milburn
2:15 PM Kick-off

Scorers: Jerad O Pray (2), Paul Shanley

After the home defeat last week, it was nice to watch a game that was not spoilt by the wind. Trowbridge took a grip on the game and scored early on when Adam Smith headed onto the crossbar and Jerard O'Pray slotted home the rebound. Aldbourne failed to respond and a second goal looked likely. This time it came from a free kick. Paul Shanley brilliantly picking his spot as the Aldbourne wall stood helpless. The third goal came later in the first half when Adam Smith went on one of his excellent runs and nearly finished it with a goal. Instead the ball rebounded off the 'keeper and once again O'Pray found the back of the net to make the game safe. In the second half, Trowbridge were never really threatened by Aldbourne, although they did seem to lose their way and their concentration a little as tempers flared and the game became scrappy. Fortunately there were no sendings off, although one or two yellow cards were shown to calm things down a bit.
