Shrewton, the Current league champions, proved to be too strong for Trowbridge but manager, Neil Kirkpatrick should be proud of his young side. The home side nearly took the lead after just four minutes, the shot being cleared after rebounding from a post. Another opportunity went begging for Shrewton after 12 minutes when a player shot wide. Two minutes later Dave Percival went on an amazing run down e right wing and having beaten a couple of players, cut inside another to shoot towards goal. Unfortunately, for Percival the ball stuck a defender and went over the crossbar for a corner. The resultant corner was only cleared as far as Adam Nunn whose good effort from 20 yards just crept over the bar. Despite these chances for Trowbridge, Shrewton always looked in charge of the game and took the lead through Sean Collins, the ball being fed to him from the left. Adam Nunn then caused the Shrewton goalkeeper to fumble with a low free-kick but is was the Trowbridge defence that worked the hardest, to keep out the lively Shrewton forwards for the remainder of the first half. When they did create a scoring opportunity, Adam Sheppard, the Trowbridge goalkeeper made some fine stops to keep the half-time score at 1-0.

Early in the second half, Shrewton increased their lead to two. Mickey Ball finishing well with a shot that went in off the post after receiving a pass from Collins. The remainder of the second half saw Trowbridge battling hard but often the final ball just didn't come off as they tried to break down an experienced Shrewton defence. Meanwhile, the home side could have added to their total on a number of occasions but for some good defending and good goal-keeping by Adam Sheppard.
