Almondsbury though to final.
Trowbridge finally succumbed to premier division opposition in a hard fought semi-final second leg. Almondsbury were in front straight from the kick off. Craig Davidge beating the Trowbridge defence with a run down the right followed by a vicious cross that crept inside the far post to the dismay of everyone. The match began to settle down and Trowbridge began to pass the ball well on the excellent playing surface. The first shot from Trowbridge came after 17 minutes a low drive by Adam Nunn from just outside the box that was taken low to his left by the goalkeeper. Adam tried his luck again eight minutes later, beating one player and striking a low shot across goal that should have been saved by Demitriov but he allowed the ball to go under his hands as he dived and Trowbridge were level. Almondsbury put Trowbridge under plenty of pressure with their direct approach and the long throws by Davidge that were as good as corners but the defence held firm until half time. Smith and Wilson both working hard to keep the score-line level.
Almondsbury took the lead just five minutes into the second half, another long throw into the area was dealt with but as the ball came back out Tony Bennett finished well from inside the penalty area. Trowbridge seemed to be giving possession away too easily and the Almondsbury players seemed to always get to the ball first as the visitors tried to get themselves back into the match. There were chances to equalise, Gordon Saunderson hit a fine shot in the 67th minute that Demitriov did well to save high to his right. Saunderson also saw a shot creep agonisingly wide of the post in the 74th minute, the opportunity being setup by substitute Matt Cooper. However, It was an Almondsbury substitute that made the game safe for the home side. Ryan Couzens with a good run and left foot finish a minute later. Saunderson went wide again with a fine overhead kick in the dying minutes but by then it was all over and the premier division side prevailed.
