Trowbridge win despite Quarry comeback.

Trowbridge made the perfect start after just 3 minutes, Matt Cooper sliding home his first goal for the club from a Dave Percival pass. They had already gone close twice in the first minute with chances from Adam Nunn and Dave Percival. Michael Barnes should really have made it two following a good move in the 12th minute. Percival received a pass from Cooper and his pass sat up invitingly for Barnes to hit first time but he chose to try and control the ball first and the chance went away. The first chance for Quarry came after 21 minutes. Justin Ford with a shot over the bar that perhaps should have been on target. Adam Nunn very nearly scored for Trowbridge in the 25th minute. A poor clearance by goalkeeper Aaron Armstrong gave away possession and which allowed Adam Nunn to shoot towards goal but Armstrong made amends for his error with a fine save to push the ball away for a corner. Dave Percival then showed why he is the League's leading scorer with a brilliant solo run and finish to make it 2-0 with 29 minutes gone. Quarry attacked towards the end of the first half and the pressure nearly paid off in the 43rd minute when Trowbridge couldn't get the ball clear and a shot eventually went over the crossbar. The second half started just like the first with an early goal. Percival beat a defender on the left and cut the ball back to Adam Nunn who scored with a good low shot into the corner to make it 3-0. Seven minutes later Nunn was brought down in the area and Percival smashed home the penalty make it 4-0. Manager Neil Kirkpatick saw this as an opportunity to make some changes and Trowbridge lost their way for a while as a now more physical Quarry pushed forward to try to claw back the deficit. They got their reward after 62 minutes. Adam Sheppard could only push a good shot by Colin Ryan into the net and 12 minutes later David Jennings pulled back another with a good shot across goal to make it 4-2. Having been stunned by this comeback Trowbridge attacked towards the end with Adam Nunn shooting just over following a Dave Percival cross.
