With the league leaders at the start of the day, Pewsey Vale, without a game, Wroughton had the opportunity to go top of the table with a win away at Trowbridge Town. The two sides did not get to meet last season but the two games in Season 2018-19 had both ended in 1-1 draws and Wroughton travelled expecting another tough game as they looked to maintain their run which had seen them win all five of their opening fixtures. A goal from Devan Bryan, taking him to eight for the season and early leadership of the goal scoring chart, set them on the way. Aaron Maximen, who had scored a hat-trick in midweek, then added two more to his personal tally since returning from Highworth Town as Wroughton secured a 3-0 win to take over at the top of the table. |
