A young Trowbridge side fared well against last years champions Wroughton. Honours were even at the break after both sides had conceded penalties for fouls during the first. Both penalties were poorly taken but still found their way into the nets via 'keepers and the goalposts, Dave Percival with the spot kick for the home side. Wrougton were 3-1 up before Percival pulled a late goal back but there just wasn't enough time to grab a point. The second goal for Wroughton was a free-kick that was "passed" into the goal before the whistle was blown and everyone was taking up their positions. Trowbridge were convinced that referee Bill Hawkins had said wait for the whistle but the goal stood. To be fair Wroughton were the better side but a good performance from the lads, many of which have not played regularly at this level.
