White Ball Used
Bristol City, fielding an XI which included most of their regular League players were fully extended by Trowbridge Town in a friendly game at Frome Road on Wednesday evening.
Watched by 5,526 the game was arranged in recognition of the signing by the City of Alous Eisentranger – the German amateur forward, who was the Town's leading goalscorer last season.
Trowbridge went ahead in 3 minutes when Haddon converted a penalty after Laing had been fouled.
Boxshall equalised for City and White took his chance 10 minutes from time to score and give City victory.
When the light became bad, a white painted ball was produced, an innovation which the oldest spectators present could not recall ever having seen or heard of.
It proved a great advantage to both player an spectators.
