Trowbridge were defeated 3-1 by Swindon Town in the final of the Wiltshire Professional Shield at Frome Road before an attendance of 2388.
Swindon took a 3 goal lead after only 10 minutes and eased up during the rest of the half. Terry Moss pulled one goal back for the Town after 54 minutes and during the second half Trowbridge were the ones to call the tune. But further goals did not come.
During the previous week Trowbridge had failed in their attempt to attain Premier League status by 3 points, but Trowbridge Reserves gained promotion to the First Division of the Western League.
