Trowbridge gained their first ever Southern League win to move off the bottom of the league table. Guildford City were beaten 2-1 at Guildford and took over Trowbridge's bottom position.
Guildford goalkeeper, Charlie Dore, made two bad errors in dropping corners and Mike Baker scored each time, one goal coming in each half. Mel Thomas, the Trowbridge winger, caused all sorts of problems to the Guildford defence. The Guildford goal was scored immediately after the interval.
