The Town visited Cambridge City on the Friday evening and then played Dunstable Town on the Saturday afternoon. The results were 2-0 and 2-1 respectively and with these two defeats Trowbridge's promotion hopes virtually disappeared, although manager Jimmy Bowie would not accept this with a run of home fixtures to come.
Alan Peacock scored the goal on the Saturday to equalised, but Dunstable scored the winner in the 62nd minute.

Terry Evans retired with torn led ligaments in their first match.
