Aldbourne
3 - 1
 Trowbridge Town

League (Wiltshire Intermediate League)
Saturday, October 16th, 1999
Southward Lane, Aldbourne
2:30 PM Kick-off

Scorers: Gary Holding, Neil Kirkpatrick (2)

The 50 or so traveling Trowbridge supporters must have thoroughly enjoyed this game. The weather was glorious the setting was a perfect Wiltshire village and the result went the right way! It was an entertaining first half despite the fact that there were no goals. The only unfortunate news from a Trowbridge point of view was that Gary Holding was shown a yellow card for a foul after he had already been warned by the referee. The second half continued to be bright and there was no way that the game was going to finish goalless. Aldbourne broke the deadlock with a good headed goal and this seemed to bring extra determination from the away side as they continued to attack. Both goalkeepers had made good saves before Gary Holding chipped the goalkeeper to level the score. New signing Adam Smith teased the Aldbourne defence with some fine runs but the next goal came from the spot when Steve Eade was fouled in the box and Neil Kirkpatrick duly converted. Aldbourne were now beaten and just to make sure Kirkpatrick grabbed his second by just about beating the keeper in a one-on-one situation. A deserved win but credit to Aldbourne who played their part in a entertaining match.
