Trowbridge Town made their exit from the Addkey Senior Cup on Saturday, losing 4-0 in this quarter final replay. They were without Mike Little who will now miss the rest of the season after fracturing a leg against league leaders Devizes on Tuesday. Tempers flared in the early stages and the referee appeared to be losing control. Fortunately, both teams settled down and tried to concentrate on playing football. The first real chances of the game came halfway through the first half. Both goalkeepers making good saves when the opening goal looked likely. In the 24th minute Adam Smith reached the ball just before Maggs, the Cricklade goalkeeper, but his shot trickled past the post. From the resultant goal kick Jarad O'Pray nipped in to intercept as a defender headed the ball back towards the 'keeper but Maggs again saved well. Cricklade's first goal came after 27 minutres, Chris Vaughan made a good stop from Jamie Richards but the ball ran to Steve Avenall who drilled his shot into the net. Just before the break, Trowbridge had a shot cleared off the line.

These missed chances by Trowbridge in the first half proved to be their downfall. As they pushed forward in the second half looking for the equaliser, Cricklade always looked likely to score on the break and did just that when Richards slotted in the second goal after a fumble from Chris Vaughan. The game was now over and Cricklade added two more goals through Mazotta and York. The latter being the best goal of the match. Cricklade deserved the win but 4-0 was probably a bit harsh.
