Trowbridge Town visited Purton for the first time ever in this entertaining match and came back with all three points. The heavy pitch made flowing football difficult as both sides battled to gain the upper hand in the first half. The first chance came after 12 minutes, Jerad O'Pray controlling a pass from Mark Edwards but the ensuing shot was too high. Trowbridge forced two more corners that came to nothing before taking the lead after 16 minutes. Brent Murden forced the ball over the line after good work from Edwards allowed Mike Little to shoot across goal. Purton nearly squared matters shortly afterwards when Mark Cutter found himself goal side of Neil Kirkpatrick. Fortunately for Trowbridge, Chris Vaughan was equal to Cutter's fine effort and just managed to push the ball round the post. Purton put Trowbridge under pressure as they sought to equalise but nearly fell further behind when O'Pray hit a good shot on the turn. The Purton goalkeeper doing very well to push the shot over the bar and keep the half time score at 1-0.

In the 52nd minute Trowbridge were awarded a free kick, taken by Ben Gardner. The kick ran through to Mike Little who turned and scored with a low shot to make it 2-0. On 65 minutes, Purton pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Chris Vaughan couldn't get enough on the ball to stop Mark Cutter scoring his fourth goal of the season. Two minutes later, Trowbridge wrapped the game up with their third goal. A superb shot from Edwards was helped on its way by Kirkpatrick, giving the Purton goalkeeper no chance.
