Despite the result, this was actually an improved performance from Trowbridge. Devizes nearly took the lead early on when a good shot from 25 yards soared just over. After that Trowbridge settled down and played some decent football and Chris Tricker went on a superb run down the left wing cutting inside to shoot and beat the 'keeper, only to see his shot bounce off the inside of the post. Ten minutes later Devizes also hit the post with the ball fortunately rebounding into the arms of Chris Vaughan. Chris also made a couple of very good saves later in the half which kept the first half goal-less. To be fair the better team controlled the second half and although Trowbridge tried their best it was not a surprise when Mark Strickland gave Devizes the lead. The away side wrapped the game up with a late second and thus completed a deserved win. |
