6:15 PM Kick-off

This was an interesting rather than an exciting game. Wroughton had everything to play for as they strive for the runners-up spot in the league whilst Trowbridge wanted to avenge defeats earlier in the season. The early evening kick off did not help Wroughton who started the game with an outfield player, Shaun Clarke in goal. Despite this setback, Trowbridge were unable to break down the Wroughton defence. The best chance came after 15 minutes. Chris Henry showed tremendous pace to reach a through ball and went past a defender into the penalty area. He then showed good skill to set up a right foot scoring opportunity but with only the stand-in goalkeeper to beat he shot wide. Chris also had a shout for a penalty on 30 minutes but the referee wasn't interested. Wroughton scored the only goal of the game after 39 minutes. A high ball was punched upwards by Adam Sheppard and then Brent Murden tried to head clear. Unfortunately the ball dropped to Shaun Clark who by now had been replaced by the regular Wroughton goalkeeper and he made no mistake. In the second half, Trowbridge pressed looking for an equaliser but could not create a clear scoring opportunity against the well organised Wroughton defence. Waleed Bakali deserves a mention in this match. His work rate was excellent throughout.
