Shrewton fielded at least 6 first team players in this match, which obviously meant much tougher opponents that when Trowbridge won 8-0 at Shrewton earlier in the season. Trowbridge were on the back foot in the opening minutes as Shrewton played the ball about well with most of the play coming through Jessie Walters. The best Trowbrideg attack of the first half came after 26 minutes. Adam Shackell played a good ball down the right wing and Mike Little headed a cross by Dave Percival towards goal. The goalkeeper saved well and Ricky Trott brushed the top of the crossbar with the follow up. Shrewton took the lead through Darren Gale, heading home when play was allowed to continue even though it looked as if Adam Sheppard was fouled. In the second half, Trowbridge played much better and enjoyed a better percentage of the possession. Mike Little forced the goalkeeper to make a good save with a shot on the turn after 55 minutes. Two minutes later, Trowbridge levelled the scores. Dave Percival with a glancing header from a good cross by substitute Matt Minnis. Trowbridge searched for the winner with time running out and this left gaps at the back, which led to both sides having chances to win the match. Both goalkeepers made fine saves and the final score of 1-1 was probably a fair result.
