Trowbridge maintained top spot in the league with their first ever win at Meadow Lane. The first half was a very tight affair, both sides denying their opponents the space to play entertaining football. Each side only really created one chance. The best opportunity shortly before half-time when Dave Percival should have done better in front of goal having been set up by Dave Mitchell. The second half looked more likely to produce a result, both sides enjoying better possession. The game came to life in the 78th minute. Shaun Daniels gained possession on the right hand side near the centre line and played a good ball through to Dave Percival. Having taken the ball past one defender, Percival then crossed for Dave Mitchell to finish with a first time shot into the bottom left corner of the net. The lead was increased 5 minutes later. Percival ran onto a through ball from Adam Nunn and cleverly flicked the ball past the Westbury goalkeeper. In the final minute of the match, Gavin Eyre, just back from injury, won the ball from the goalkeeper on the left edge of the penalty area and the ball rebounded for Dave Percival to shoot across goal towards an empty net. The shot may have gone just wide but Waleed Bakali was there to make sure of a 3-0 victory.
